La comida estaba increíblemente increíble de buena, nos pedimos la hamburguesa “the boss” y la “juicy”, las patatas fritas eran caseras y se notaba mucho que los productos eran de calidad, el pan es artesanal y local. Respecto al trato, fue increíble, estábamos dudosos con que hamburguesa pedir y nos ayudaron con eso, además eran muy amables, recomiendo 100% el sitio!!! ~ stephanie X

Hidden little gem right opposite Komtar! The place isn’t very big, but it’s cozy and comfortable. Tried their charcoal-grilled burgers — both the beef and Cajun chicken were juicy, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. The thick-cut fries were surprisingly good too, crispy outside and soft inside. The highlight for me was definitely their Bitterballen — crispy on the outside with a rich chicken and beef filling. I heard it’s the only place in Penang serving this Dutch snack! Definitely worth trying. Drinks were great as well — loved the Lychee Mojito and the espresso drinks. Overall, really good food, friendly service, and convenient location (easy to park nearby). Highly recommended if you’re looking for quality charcoal-grilled food in George Town! ~ jing l

Nous avons rarement été accueillis par un propriétaire aussi gentil. J'aime bien ces petits restaurants, avec quelques tables à peine. Les burgers, cuits au charbon, sont exceptionnels, et les frites sont les meilleures que j'ai pu goûter depuis le début de mon séjour (et en tant que français, je suis exigeant sur les frites). Bref, je recommande vivement. J'y retournerai lors de mon prochain voyage à Penang. ~ Jon D

맛있는 버거와 감자튀김! 저는 일반 감튀보다 웨지감자나 두껍고 길쭉한 감튀를 좋아해서 일부러 갔는데 기대보다 더 맛있었어요. 버거는 보스 비프 버거랑 케이준이 시그니처 버거 같아서 시켰는데, 처음에 크기가 조금 작은 것 같았지만 다 먹고 나니 작다는 생각이 안들었고 간이 세지 않아서 맛있게 잘 먹었습니다. 저희 응대해 준 여성 직원분과 짧게 대화를 나눴는데 세계 문화에 관심이 많은 분이라 대화도 정말 재밌었어요. ~ Ana A

Nous avons pris le Boss Burger. Bon burger dans l'ensemble : le bun est excellent, la viande aux herbes originale et parfumée, la sauce à la truffe bonne et légère. Seul bémol le fromage qui est une tranche de cheddar basique. Le bacon de dinde etait tres croustillant. Dans l'ensemble un bon Burger et on a eu un dessert gratuit. Super service 👌 ~ Paul

Der Burger und die Fish and Chips haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch der Mojito Moctail war sehr lecker und wir können das kleine Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Vor allem die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich und wir hatten eine sehr nette Unterhaltung mit dem Besitzer. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung in George Town😀 ~ Friederike

Visited Orange Black Café in George Town, Penang, and had a really pleasant experience. The café has a simple industrial-style interior with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. It’s not overly crowded, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal or catch up with friends. We ordered the beef boss burger with fries. The burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and stacked with fresh lettuce, cheese, bacon, and a creamy sauce that complemented the beef nicely. The brioche bun was soft, and the thick-cut fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The drinks were refreshing and paired well with the meal. Service was friendly, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a good burger and a comfortable café vibe in George Town. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion. I’d definitely come back to try more items on the menu. ~ eddy L

Stopped by this small cozy cafe in front of Komtar. Their signatures menu are burgers but I opted for fish and chips, sloppy fries and mac n cheese. Fish and chips were superb. Fresh fish, good tartar sauce and great fries. Sloppy fries were amazing. Packed with minced beef. What stood out was the hand cut potatoes made into fries. Mac n cheese, well, its a bit disappointing. The taste was great but the presentation was poor. It didnt look tantalising enough and looked more like a kid meal. Personally, if it was served in a smaller but taller bowl, it might have looked better. Add some minced beef, and it would look more like a meal. The service was quick since there were no people around I guess but they always check on the customer for how was the food, which is commendable. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would definitely come back for fish and chips. ~ Aiman M

Greetings from Singapore, Penang! We bought the turkey ham pasta, pesto penne pasta, bacon mac & cheese and the fish and chips today. The food was AWESOME! Tasted so goood! The take-away packaging was also nice. The customer service was awesome and the crew are friendly. We will recommend them to anyone who visits Penang island. But, do note that there are limited seats. We’re going again tomorrow to try the burgers!! Thank you, I Am…Simply Dasyat! Wish you all the best! Als Amsterdammers in Maleisië een super fijne en smakelijke ervaring. Voor ons een nieuwe interpretatie van de bitterbal- zeker het proberen waard. Burgers ook heerlijk, idem voor fish&chips en lychee mocktail een van de lekkerste mocktails ooit. Aanrader! ~ Neeltje D

I’ve been in Malaysia for two weeks, and this was the only place that served cola with a slice of lemon — I was really touched by the thoughtful service. The signature Cajun Chicken Burger and the Boss Beef Burger were fantastic, and the fries with chili and ketchup were the best combination I’ve ever had. The sauce is simply the best handmade sauce: the texture falls gently, with a balance of mild spiciness, sweetness, and a hint of sourness. Thanks to the wonderful people and the delicious food, this is definitely a place I’d love to revisit if I ever come back to Penang. ~ 김예지

We were looking where to eat a good hamburger and we chose it because of the reviews. Definitely RIGHT! All delicious We started with meat BitterBallen, amazing crumbed Then continue with the BOSS and JUICY burger, the flavor of the burger is unique, fries homemade perfects, the fluffy and light bread, the sauces delicious. With a minimum spend of 50 you try the special bread of the house that, ufff delicious. There are no words that exactly describe the flavors, you have to TRY IT! Freshly fried thick, crispy but yet so fluffy chips. Fresh fish used.. firm, flaky and yet so tender with light batter that provides you with a satisfying crunch! Also ordered the ribs. Tanginess from the sauce accompanying the tender, fall of the bone ribs sure will satisfy your crave. Service do take time because all of the meal was freshly made. All in all, great experience.. Imagine this: going on a solo trip overseas as a singaporean to escape from Singaporeans.. and then unknowingly walking into a burger joint and chatting with the boss only to find out he is also singaporean! Jokes aside, the food here was simply world class. I enjoyed the burger thoroughly, and they make everything in house, and use fresh not frozen beef. The fries were very well seasoned and fried. I don't ever write reviews for restaurants but this is the first time I ever felt like I had to write a review. Genuinely one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The boss burger is easily one of the best if not the best burger I've ever had and the fish and chips is the best I've had in my life. The service was amazing, the server was friendly and very attentive. Reasonably priced given the quality of the food and service. Definitely will return in the future, wishing all the best for this restaurant. ~ Ze y
