Hidden little gem right opposite Komtar! The place isn’t very big, but it’s cozy and comfortable. Tried their charcoal-grilled burgers — both the beef and Cajun chicken were juicy, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. The thick-cut fries were surprisingly good too, crispy outside and soft inside. The highlight for me was definitely their Bitterballen — crispy on the outside with a rich chicken and beef filling. I heard it’s the only place in Penang serving this Dutch snack! Definitely worth trying. Drinks were great as well — loved the Lychee Mojito and the espresso drinks. Overall, really good food, friendly service, and convenient location (easy to park nearby). Highly recommended if you’re looking for quality charcoal-grilled food in George Town! ~ jing l

Nous avons rarement été accueillis par un propriétaire aussi gentil. J'aime bien ces petits restaurants, avec quelques tables à peine. Les burgers, cuits au charbon, sont exceptionnels, et les frites sont les meilleures que j'ai pu goûter depuis le début de mon séjour (et en tant que français, je suis exigeant sur les frites). Bref, je recommande vivement. J'y retournerai lors de mon prochain voyage à Penang. ~ Jon D

Nous avons pris le Boss Burger. Bon burger dans l'ensemble : le bun est excellent, la viande aux herbes originale et parfumée, la sauce à la truffe bonne et légère. Seul bémol le fromage qui est une tranche de cheddar basique. Le bacon de dinde etait tres croustillant. Dans l'ensemble un bon Burger et on a eu un dessert gratuit. Super service 👌 ~ Paul

Greetings from Singapore, Penang! We bought the turkey ham pasta, pesto penne pasta, bacon mac & cheese and the fish and chips today. The food was AWESOME! Tasted so goood! The take-away packaging was also nice. The customer service was awesome and the crew are friendly. We will recommend them to anyone who visits Penang island. But, do note that there are limited seats. We’re going again tomorrow to try the burgers!! Thank you, I Am…Simply Dasyat! Wish you all the best! I’ve been in Malaysia for two weeks, and this was the only place that served cola with a slice of lemon — I was really touched by the thoughtful service. The signature Cajun Chicken Burger and the Boss Beef Burger were fantastic, and the fries with chili and ketchup were the best combination I’ve ever had. The sauce is simply the best handmade sauce: the texture falls gently, with a balance of mild spiciness, sweetness, and a hint of sourness. Thanks to the wonderful people and the delicious food, this is definitely a place I’d love to revisit if I ever come back to Penang. ~ 임장각

We were looking where to eat a good hamburger and we chose it because of the reviews. Definitely RIGHT! All delicious We started with meat BitterBallen, amazing crumbed Then continue with the BOSS and JUICY burger, the flavor of the burger is unique, fries homemade perfects, the fluffy and light bread, the sauces delicious. With a minimum spend of 50 you try the special bread of the house that, ufff delicious. There are no words that exactly describe the flavors, you have to TRY IT! Imagine this: going on a solo trip overseas as a singaporean to escape from Singaporeans.. and then unknowingly walking into a burger joint and chatting with the boss only to find out he is also singaporean! Jokes aside, the food here was simply world class. I enjoyed the burger thoroughly, and they make everything in house, and use fresh not frozen beef. The fries were very well seasoned and fried. I don't ever write reviews for restaurants but this is the first time I ever felt like I had to write a review. Genuinely one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The boss burger is easily one of the best if not the best burger I've ever had and the fish and chips is the best I've had in my life. The service was amazing, the server was friendly and very attentive. Reasonably priced given the quality of the food and service. Definitely will return in the future, wishing all the best for this restaurant. ~ Ze y

Das Essen war super lecker, sodass wir direkt jeden Abend dort hin gegangen sind. Das Personal ist auch sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich kann das Restaurant nur weiter empfehlen. Wenn ich wieder in Penang Georgetown bin, werde ich hier wieder hingehen. ~ Bernd K

Lovely and cozy coffee bar with a great vibe. The menu is excellent, especially for people with dietary allergies or restrictions (like me), which can be really hard to find when eating out. The food was fresh and really tasty, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has such a nice, relaxing atmosphere. Super welcoming owner and staff Clean & Simple interior. Fast WiFi Meats smoke in house and cooked over charcoal. Food: 5/5: burger (120 g local beef) was well seasoned. It had a nice smokiness. Spicy mayo meshed well. Served with fresh cut fries. Rustic and delicious 4/5: Special chicken burger: tender, smoky and nicely charred. Welcomed by really friendly & helpful staff, Aisyhah, served me & was delightful, small but very clean restaurant & good freshly made & really really tasty. I had a boss burger & iced lemon tea. The burger was really juicy & full of flavour, hand cut thick chips where also delicious, they allow you to sweeten the ice tea yourself with homemade sugar syrup which is great if you don’t like really sweet drinks. The food is also really well priced. I will definitely go back before I leave. ~ Michael C

Normally we come here for their awesome fish n chips..last night after seeing their picture of the beef ribs, we had to give it a try. Not only it looked good, the taste was even better. The Chef told us that the beef ribs were slowly cooked to perfection, the meat comes of the bone like the way its suppose to. Please give it a try, it's really super delicious. Not forgetting, the fish burger was awesome too. We highly recommend this place. ~ amanda a

The food at I am Simply Dasyat was outstanding! The BBQ Garlic Beef Ribs was bursting with flavor and the dish was cooked perfectly so tender and juicy. Also, the Mac and Cheese was absolutely delicious. The presentation of each dish were amazing and the service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was warm, inviting and clean, making it a great place for a casual night out. Highly recommend the burgers and pasta as well. ~ Isabelle D

Was suggested by a friend to try this new burger place located in the heart of Georgetown. Passes few times and decided to stop by. It was very cozy. Limited seating space but they do cater for group or individual and pairs. After browsing through their menu, decided to ordered their charcoal grilled for takeaway. It comes with fries too. It tasted good. The seasoning is okay. Worth trying. Packaging also very nice ~ MUHAMAD D
